College Football Playoff expansion looms large as buzz grows around a 24-team format—good news for Iowa State Cyclones fans, but is it better for the sport? Nick Marovets argues the expanded playoff gives Iowa State its best-ever shot at national relevance, but questions if the regular season and bowl games will lose their luster as more teams gain a ticket to the postseason dance. Key discussion points include the impact of playoff growth on Big 12 and Power 4 schools, concerns over the devaluation of regular season matchups, and whether a playoff run outweighs a 10-2 finish and bowl victory. Marovets debates "ring culture," breaks down Iowa State’s current playoff chances, and invites fans to weigh in on whether this expanded format is truly a win for college football or just for teams on the fringe. Will more hope for mid-tier programs come at the cost of tradition?
